CURRICULUM MODEL

Curriculum Information

The National Curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4 is the basis of the school's timetable of lessons and activities. All pupils follow a two week timetable and are in lessons for five hours each day.

Pupils are banded in the way which best enables each individual to learn fully and achieve highly, and within each band grouping methods of setting and mixed ability are used depending on the requirements of each subject area. We are a community school. Our values and moral purpose are central to what we do. We are committed to celebrating diversity; promoting harmony and tolerance; creating a learning community for pupils, staff and parents where respectful and courteous behaviour is the norm both in and out of school. We are committed to inclusion and ensuring no child or family is left behind. We are committed to achieving academic excellence and outstanding progress for all our children.

Year 7 Curriculum Aims
  • To enable all pupils to access the Secondary curriculum whatever their starting points.
  • To accelerate learning for all pupils within the first year of Secondary so that they are equipped to face the challenges and intensity of the National Curriculum and Key Stage 4 qualifications.
