The BSF programme will provide an inspirational environment that stimulates the drive for all in the school community to excel, take pleasure in learning and realise their full potential.
The Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme will provide an inspirational environment that will help us all to achieve more, to enjoy learning and realise each pupil’s full potential so they can have fulfilling and successful lives.
At the heart of the school will be the Learning Centre that provides a wide range of digital and analogue teaching and learning resources. The architecture and interior design of the Learning Centre will be reflect the different cultures of pupils and the local community. The centre will house flexible accommodation for the wide range of support agencies, teachers, mentors and support workers who support our pupils’ educational, social, emotional, behavioural and medical needs.
The Learning Centre will be a flexible space in which innovative approaches to eLearning are developed. The Learning centre will also provide learning resources and on-line courses for adults working in the school.
A large, imaginatively designed hall will reflect the cultural diversity of the school. The whole school will gather together there for cultural events, celebrations and assemblies. The hall area will be designed in such a way that it can be used for a wide range of activities. For instance, it will provide a conference facility for large groups of pupils working together when the timetable is suspended.
The eMedia studios will provide state of the art facilities in which pupils following art, music and media courses can use creative digital applications to make music, images, multimedia art and video. The new build will provide workshops and other vocational environments suitable for work related learning.
A striking new main entrance, will be created and there will be new, improved dining facilities and social areas for pupils. The new School buildings will be readily identifiable building as a significant part of the community and surroundings. The architecture of the school will express the value of education in the community. Attractive landscaping around the buildings will create an inviting entrance frontage, with a welcoming reception area that is immediately identifiable and feels safe and secure when visitors, pupils and staff arrive.
"When will it be ready?" you ask: The new buildings will open by the Spring Term 2012.
